Kalarus Brightstar, Husband of Alora Wyen
Description
Before you stands an apparently young, muscled Sidhe. Where most Sidhe
tend
to be frail and slender, this one seems more muscled, though by no means
wide. At a good 1.87 metres, he is very tall for his race, yet his size
does not diminish his grace, moving with ease and obvious dexterity. His
hair is jet black, framing a slightly pale face, appearing even paler
compared to the hair. It is worn trimmed at the front, hanging loosely
from
his head, with long straight threads pulled to the back, tied there in a
simple tail. A fiery red streak runs through the black, starting above
his
forehead just left of the center, pulled back to end twined in the
tail.
He
constantly peers about, considering his surroundings and taking them in
with his deep orange eyes, the eyes sometimes flashing a little golden.
He
carries himself confidently but slightly warily, as if constantly on
guard,
no matter what the environment.
Personality
Their personality is defined as:
WWhile any man can change much, some of his traits will return any given
situation. One of these traits in Kalarus that has always been
omnipresent
is his arrogance. Failing to be falsely modest he has given up all
pretense, and simply opens his mouth whenever he so pleases, saying
whatever he so pleases. His reputation be darned, he seems to nearly
enjoy
making himself impopular with the masses and the evils, knowing he is
above
them anyway, and must therefor help them, regardless of the cost to
himself.
Kalarus is a man who does not believe in solid rules. He is his own man,
with loyalties he chooses, refusing to shape himself after anyone else's
image. Any rule he meets he tests to see how far it bends, and when it
breaks. Some might describe as rash and careless, since he could not
care
less what others said or thought about him, even though he goes about a
lot
of situations with care and planning. What people say and think of him
will
never change who and what he is.
Lately his bitterness has grown less, as he has found new purpose and
happyness in his life. He looks with more hope to the future, and even
though his lifestyle has not changed much, his attitude has. The old
sarcasm has mostly lost its sting, and are more meant as a goodnatured
joke. His sense of duty to the people he made promises to seems the most
important thing these days.
Background
Born on the Day of Work in the month of the Rabbit, it was foretold that
the baby Kalarus would be a strong worker. Born of a noble family, it
did
not seem fitting, with most nobles, including Kalarus' parents, having
servants to perform the menial tasks and hard labour. Like other
children
of wealthy nobles, Kalarus grew up rich, educated, and spoiled. He had
servants to spare, but he always preferred to take care of himself,
instead
of letting the servants do everything.
At home, Kalarus had a private teacher, he did not go to school like the
commonborn. The teacher taught him reading, writing, and a few minor
skills, as well as the etiquette used in the court life of nobles. Bored
and uninterested, Kalarus only learnt the basics of each, though he paid
more attention to the reading and writing of runes, since those were
involved in his main interest: Magic.
It was not long before the teacher gave up on teaching young Kalarus any
more, politely informed his parents about their son and his resignation,
and left house Brightstar. Kalaru's father, Lord Brightstar, was at a
loss
for what to do with his son. His wife, a little wiser than her husband,
advised him to let their son find his own path. The Lord objected,
telling
her Kalarus was way too young and inexperienced to venture out into the
world, so instead he sent his son to train with his soldiers. The
captain,
not too happy about the arrogant, spoilt brat, could do no else than
give
in to his Lord's wishes and train the boy's muscles and weaponskills.
However, even though Kalarus was not adverse to training, he was not
enthusiastic about it either, so the captain, relieved that the young
man
shared his opinion of the situation, taught him little.
It was a few months later that Lady Brightstar, Kalaru's mother, who had
overseen the situation, turned once more to her husband, and told him to
let their son find his own path. Reluctantly the Lord agreed, and with a
little bit of money, some basic equipment and a cheery mood, Kalarus set
out on his own, to find his Magic in the wide world. It was not long
before
he arrived in Chancy, where his adventures began...
The years have passed...
Kalarus' life has gone through changes over the years. Kalarus has
become
a
member of Dawn, and uses his skills of magic as Sorcerer to help them as
good as he can. He learns a lot from them, and intends to be as
valuable
to
the clan as they are to him. He has finally found his place in the
world,
and for a while Kalarus lived his life fighting for Good, as Sorcerer,
follower of Sabrina, Dawnite, and himself, mainly through questing for
the
Angel with his friends, old and new. His static life was altered though
when he met a young girl by the name of Talina, who has brought new joy
into his life, the joy of love, a joy he lost after his last
relationship
ended. Loving her as much as she loves him, they are engaged to be
married,
and in the near future, hope to share a home as husband and wife. His
old
family, his parents back home, have befallen a tragic fate. His father
died
a natural death on an old age, leaving his wife, Lady Brightstar, behind
with their second child, a young daughter. Together they left the
castle,
and have not been heard from since. Kalarus' old home, Castle
Brightstar,
has fallen to a ruin from neglect, making Kalarus a Baron without land
or
castle. He does not care a lot for the title, and keeps it pretty much
to
himself, even though he fully intends to rebuild Castle Brightstar and
live
there with Talina some day.
Life goes on...
Kalarus' life has gone through changes, choosing a new form that is yet
the
same and making a fresh start in some things. His past is now just that,
his past. Things that were, may be no more, though some things remained
the
same. Choosing a new path in life, he walks it stubbornly and arrogantly
still.
