Alora Wyen, Wife of Cedric Anstaph

Description

You see an expressive sidhe of about 5'10" and in good shape, her hard work
just barely beginning to show on her fine, deft hands. She looks as if
smiling comes easily to her dainty lips and her large, purple eyes, have
the color and brilliance of high quality amethysts. Her long, light blue
hair falls in silken waves to midway down her back. There is a streak of
gold in her hair by her right temple and a matching streak of ebony by her
left. Every so often, one of these locks falls in front of her face and she
sweeps it away.

Her form is evidence of hard and deliberate work. She is not skinny but
slender and well-toned. There is no excess upon her body, which appears as
if it were chiseled like one of her exceptional pieces of sculpture. She
has the naturally attractive proportions one would expect to see in a sidhe
with clear curves that are not exaggerated but very balanced.. Her stomach
is flat, her legs graceful, and she is extremely surefooted, yet at the
same time light on those same elegant feet.

But it is not her physical appearance that is so startling but the grace
and fluidity of her movements. Each nuance of her motions is marked with a
quality that would take years to school, yet it comes so easily to her that
even a negative response has its own beauty. Expressions that she chooses
to show are magnified in her every action.

SUMMARY: Light blue hair with a gold and a black streak, purple eyes,
medium height and build, and well proportioned.

Personality

A complex individual with centuries of history, there are many layers of
her personality that will never see the light of day, hidden deeply within
her mind. With youth, she put passion into all her deeds. With age had she
grown cynical and impatient with the world. But with even greater age has
she come to peace with herself, to an extent. No longer a flame burning
headlong out of existence, she has a sense of self-preservation and a
constant quest to find her balance.

On the surface, she is usually calm and quiet, taking care to school her
features as to not give her thoughts away. Some may consider her distant
and cold, but to her, this is a way to control her own emotions and to
allow those around her to express themselves, untainted by her own force of
will. Restrained, she will still lose her patience, express her anger, or
let many years of guilt and pain slip to the surface. Her affection is
subdued and quiet as well, but would appear genuine.

While she keeps her own counsel on most things, it is apparent that she has
a strong sense of duty and responsibility of what is close to her. Except
for her immediate family and her goddess, few see expressions of her love.
For the most part, she is quite conservative on many matters, expecting a
semblance of manners and a minimum amount of courtesy.

Despite her emphasis on formality, she is a child of inspiration, relishing
the thoughts and moments that come to her. Her protective mask can be shed
in a heartbeat, and she can express a childlike joy, or playful innocence.
Sometimes not even innocent. Some find it baffling, or at the least,
unexpected

Background

Alora Wyen of House Brightstar, Muse of the Sword, and True Sidhe.

Still known for her crafting skills despite the fact that she has not made
anything for anyone in decades, Alora Wyen takes such fame as an insult to
her other many skills and roles rather than as a compliment of her past
extraordinary work. Indeed, while she was born into a family of merchants
and crafters and honed her artistic skills to a level unmatched by all save
one, this was only the beginning of her long life and the first of her
passions.

It was in this stage of her life that her family passed away, casualties of
the constant war that rages through Lensmoor. She remained among the
Artificers, and was later adopted by Tenous Willowmore. This is when she
became Muse of the Forge.

But life was not as happy and carefree as a crafter would desire it.
Numerous problems troubled her, and she began to wonder how she could stand
idly by. It was around this time when her mentor Sarik killed himself, and
Tenous disappeared soon after.

For decades, she had reaped the benefits of inspiration in her work, while
her faith and her Goddess were mocked and ridiculed. She was ashamed at her
role, defended by her Goddess rather than defending as is right. Leaving
her clan, her inadequacy drove her relentlessly to become worthy of her
Goddess and set things right.

She found that although she has the persistence and the drive, she doesn't
have the raw talent, the artistic intuition in fighting. Not one to give up
so easily, she strove on, realizing that she had to work harder than she'd
ever had before to attain anything near her former standing in another art.
And so, with hard work and determination, emerged the Muse of the Sword.

Her self-training was relentless, her passion to the cause of the light
undying (really, it was to her Goddess), and while her contributions were
arguable, none could fault her with laziness or lack of diligence.

She married the True Sidhe Kalarus Brightstar, and vowed to dfend Tandanu
at his side. With strong wills and stronger opinions, they were very well
matched in those times. Together, they worked to rebuild Castle Brightstar
and to raise a family.

Life seemed stable. Her world was in order, even if there was no peace. But
it was then that Kirsten stepped away from the world, departing from her
mortal worshippers without word. Just as the presence of Kirsten faded, so
did she. Eventually, she pushed herself too far and too long; her energy
ran out.

From there on, circumstances grew complicated. She joined the faith of
Aganar, in many ways as an extension of her service to Kirsten. Troubles
arose then, within faiths and among gods. Kalarus dealt with struggles
within the faiths of good, while Alora dealt with something similar but
more personal. Eventually, Kirsten did return. Her parting with Aganar was
not very pretty, but she left the bitter God healed in many ways. Chaos
continued to rage. Despite it all, or perhaps because of it, Kirsten
revealed that She had taken a new path, one eerily similar to the
development of Alora's own thoughts yet it was still a difficult
transition. Not long after, Kalarus fell in battle, the details of which
she would never know.

For many years, she lived virtually alone in a deserted castle, struggling
to find herself and her new path, attempting to reconcile the cause of
good, and the love for her goddess. She grew very quiet and introverted,
but managed to find some sense of calm despite her uncertainties.

One day, one of her children married, without warning. Whether it was
twisted humor or pure inspiration, she went out and did the same,
unsurprising but without warning. She chose Cedric Anstaph, a man who had
stood by her through the turmoil within the religions, the death of her
husband, and her rapid withdrawal from the world. A man who had been
waiting patiently for this day.

They vowed themselves to a new life
