Kellan Anson, Second Child of Ryella and Aubrey
Description
Around two and a half feet tall, Kellan is
slightly smaller
than her peers.
She looks to be a smaller version of older sidhes, but still
lacks the
graces of her race in her unrefined movements.
Bright blue eyes pierce her surroundings, observing more
than they probably
let on. Her heart-shaped face is framed by loose hairs
fallen out of the
quick pig-tails her firey red tresses are bound into for
play and
training's sake. There are a few streaks of a lighter color
in her hair,
looking at first to be white in comparison to the red, but a
few seconds'
inspection reveals a light blue.
Personality
Frailer than her peers, Kellan is self-conscous of her lack in
strength.
She tries to train hard the way her parents want her to, but is
frustrated
at her own limits. Also frustrated by her lack of grace, she tries to
be
the beautiful mature sidhe lady, but often fails to do so. Both of
these
aspects, however, do show themselves in their own way through her
normal
child play - building forts, taking charge of the other children, etc.
She
enjoys learning dance, as it is the only time she does not geel
frustrated
with her own form, and can see her own progress easily with each
lesson.
Growing up in the Tandanu castle, Kellan has come to expect a certain
amount of respect from others, and to assume authority over others. As
she
ages, this imagined field of respect and authority widens to include
more
people. Mindful of her parents, she strives to do her best despite (or
in
spite of?) her limits. She looks up to both her mother and her father,
often using them as gauges for success and good qualities in other
adults.
She also looks up to her sister, though she at times feels in
competition
with her.
Background
Kellan was born on the day of Play, on the 24th of the Month of the
Wolf,
in the Year 274, in the Brightstar Castle. Her mother underwent some
unusual circumstances during the pregnancy, resulting in a few problems
for
Kellan. Her mother had difficulty with magic and was cursed with
nightmares
of Arawn's tower throughout the pregnancy, creating a fear of death by
magic that transferred to Kellan, who had been born underweight and
went
through multiple illnesses in infancy.
Kellan has been raised by a combination of people, mainly Tandanu
servants,
her parents, and one maid in particular that she has come to call Nana.
She
has an older sister, Nola, who Kellan looks up to somewhat, though not
entirely because she's taller.
Her life has been a never ending string of lessons, or at least it
feels
that way to Kellan. She's enjoyed some of them and not particularly
cared
for others, all in all been an average kid as far as appreciating her
own
education goes. Her level of focus has varied over the years, though it
seems to be leaning towards the stronger side as she gets older and her
determination grows.
